Privacy

PriceDisco has no accounts, no advertising, and no analytics. Nothing here follows you between apps or sites, and nothing is sold or given to data brokers. What follows is the whole of it.
What leaves your device, and where it goes
- The photo you take. It is sent to the AI provider you have chosen — Anthropic or OpenAI — to identify the item, and to eBay if you publish a listing. It is not stored by us.
- What you type — the short note about an item, and the listing text you review — travels with it, for the same purposes.
- Search terms go to eBay to find comparable listings. For a graded card, the certificate number goes to PSA to look up its record.
- A device identifier, but only if you use the free tier. It comes from Apple's App Attest and exists to hold a daily allowance to one device. It names no person, and a seller using their own API key never sends it.
What stays on your device
- Your lookup history and photos, in the app's own storage.
- Any API key you enter, and your eBay sign-in, in the iOS Keychain. Your eBay tokens are yours: they pass through our server when they are issued or renewed, and are neither stored nor logged there.
What our server keeps
The free tier runs through a small server of ours, which holds the API keys so the app doesn't have to. It keeps counters, not content:
- How many lookups a device has made today, keyed to that App Attest identifier. Deleted after two days.
- A daily total of calls and cost for the service as a whole, with no device attached. Kept for a year.
No photos, no search terms and no request or response bodies are stored. A lookup is identified only by a random id that means nothing outside the day it was made.
Other people's privacy policies
Once your photo reaches a provider, their terms govern it: Anthropic, OpenAI, eBay.
Children
PriceDisco is not directed at children and collects nothing from them knowingly.
Changes, and asking us things
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date above changes with it. Questions, or a request to delete something, go to support@pricedisco.com — though for the most part there is nothing of yours for us to delete, which is the point.
